Who we are

FortuneFundraising is led by Helena Koupis, who brings over 20 years of specialist fundraising experience to the work. The consultancy is named after Temple Fortune in North London, where Helena is based – a place we think is a rather fitting home for a fundraising consultancy.

FortuneFundraising was created to offer charities clear, ethical, and practical fundraising support without the cost or complexity of large consultancy firms.

Our past work placements and projects

Helena’s past roles and project work span a wide range of organisations across the not-for-profit sector. These include some of the largest and best-known charities in the UK and internationally, such as Amnesty International UK, alongside smaller, community-based organisations including North London Hospice.

This breadth of experience means FortuneFundraising understands both the systems and scale of larger charities, and the realities, constraints, and opportunities facing smaller organisations.

What we can bring to your organisation

We bring strategic expertise, hands-on practical support, and access to a strong network of experienced non-profit professionals. Our work is particularly valuable for small and mid-sized organisations that have reached a point where they need to diversify their income in order to sustain and grow. We can offer this to them to save them the expensive – and often unnecessary – step of recruiting permanent fundraising staff.

Our diverse offer

FortuneFundraising offers flexible, tailored support. This may include:

  • Setting up fundraising systems, processes or departments from scratch

  • Database analysis and optimisation

  • Developing donor stewardship journeys

  • Strengthening and diversifying income streams

  • Designing appeals, campaigns, or events

  • Creating or optimising website and fundraising content

  • Creating long-term fundraising strategies

  • Training and supporting existing staff to embed fundraising across the organisation

If you simply need an independent assessment or fundraising audit, with clear guidance on priorities and next steps, this can also be provided.

Accessible support

With services starting from £99, FortuneFundraising is committed to making high-quality fundraising knowledge accessible to the charities and non-profits who need it most – without adding unnecessary financial pressure to their budgets.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who do you work with?

I work with small to mid-sized charities and non-profit organisations in the UK and internationally, including those working in international development, health, social care, faith-based and community contexts, as well as campaigning organisations.

Do you only work with UK-based charities?

No. While I am UK-based, I work with charities all over the world, this includes organisations operating and delivering programmes overseas.

Do you offer ongoing support as well as one-off support?

Yes — both. I offer flexible support ranging from one-off consultations or project work to ongoing support through a monthly retainer which will be tailored to suit my client. This allows organisations to access trusted fundraising expertise without committing to a full-time fundraiser.

How available are you for support?

I aim to be approachable, responsive, and reliable. Whether supporting a short project or working on a retainer basis, clients value having consistent access to clear advice and practical fundraising support.
